A promise kept

One thing you must never do is make a promise to your children that you can't keep.  So when Richie turned five he reminded us that had said we would take him to Disneyland when he walked or when he turned five, whichever came sooner.
1995 was ideal as Chelsea was too young to want to come and grandma Jean was available to look after her.  So in September (when Richie was in fact six) the three of us waved goodbye to Jean at the Greyhound depot in Canberra, on the first leg of our trip to the US.
