Disneyland

Escondido was less than an hour from San Diego and just a bit further south of Disneyland, so we were very central.  We decided to hit Disneyland while the weather was good (only 108F), and indeed it met all of Richie’s expectations.  Being in a wheelchair worked to his advantage too, as we didn’t have to queue for rides.  In fact, everywhere we went on this trip there were wheelchair facilities, even on the buses in San Francisco.  That of course is the norm in many countries these days, but the US was one of the first.
